A list of equipment i use regularly
This type of camera is preferred by most bloggers to film sit down Youtube videos. I use my Canon 700D to shoot my outfits, and as I shoot mainly indoors, low light can sometimes be an issue, but the DSLR allows me to adjust the camera settings to accommodate this. The 700D is a pretty old model so consider investing in newer models such as the Canon EOS 200D or Canon EOS 6D MK II.
The Canon 50mm Lens is considered top quality for fashion and portrait photography. It is wide enough to capture full length outfits, as well as focus in for close range detailed shots which is ideal when shooting makeup tutorials, headshots, clothing details.
Do you know how much this remote changed the game for me? Shooting content used to consist of me running back and forth from my camera, desperately trying to conceal behind a faux smile/poised pout how flustered I was from setting the self timer and rushing back into frame, checking its still in focus, making sure nothing about me was out of place and *snap* - imagine how many times you have to do that when your batch shooting....🙄...sis getchu one of these - here.
Girl of course I gotta have a remote for my phone - self timer is 2020 vibes and I know you know what that means okuurrr....
Back in 2012 I was balancing my Pentax compact camera on a tower of books and shoe boxes piled on top of one another to create the perfect shooting angle - it would drop often 🤦🏽♀️ When I invested in my DSLR there was no way I was going to continue that balancing act. This here is my instagram husband, the MVP. The tripod extends to 61" making it possible to shoot over head shots for flatlays and handsfree videos and it has a rotating head so I can shoot my outfits in portrait mode.
If you need a tripod for when your on the go then the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod is small enough to take around for street-style shoots. It doesn't extend but has enough grip to stay in place on an elevated surface.
From some DSLR's you can send your files from your camera to your phone via WI-FI. If your camera can't or you don't have a form of internet connection available to you then connecting the SD card directly to your phone via this adapter is super helpful! Ugh it pains me to recall the years I spent importing images from my camera to my laptop and then emailing them from my laptop to my phone, hadn't a clue about airdrop back then, but even if I did, importing the files in one step is a huge time saver.
Now the Apple SD Card reader is quite spenny but don't worry there is an alternative, that I actually own myself - here - does the same job but doesn't break the bank.
